The energy bill continues its surge (+ 34,7 38,26% to € bn) and exceeds the level of the first oil shock.

A 38,26 billion (€ bn) in 2005, the energy bill of France continues its soaring: + 34,7%, after already + 24,1% in 2004 5,4% and + in 2003. It thus exceeds the level of the first oil shock (about 29 billion € in euros 2005) without reaching that of 1981 (49,6 billion €) and weighs three times more than 1997 1 (13,12 billion €).

The bill represents 2,26% of GDP, more than 2004 (1,72%), but much less than 1981 (5%). On average over the six years to 2000 2005, the weight of the energy bill of France is at a high level 1,66 point of GDP, up 0,63 point from the 1997 year.
The increase in the energy bill accounts for more than half (54%) degradation of the balance of trade fob-fob France (-18,17 billion € between 2004 and 2005 2). Energy imports accounted 50,25 billion € (+ 33,5% over 2004) and exports 11,98 billion € (+ 29,9%).
