  4. Light detector : On the other side of the measuring chamber there is a light detector which measures the amount of infrared light that manages to pass through the chamber after being absorbed by the CO2.
  5. Calculation of CO2 concentration : By measuring the amount of infrared light absorbed, the sensor can calculate the concentration of CO2 in the air using a specific formula. This concentration is usually expressed in parts per million (ppm) or as a percentage (%).
  6. Display or transmission of data : The measured CO2 concentration is then displayed on a screen or transmitted to a monitoring system, allowing users to monitor and control the air quality in a given environment.
