The Ministry of Industry selects seven new wind farm projects

Seven wind farm projects have been selected by the Minister for Industry, François Loos. Representing a cumulative energy of 278,35 MW, they should contribute to crossing the 2000 MW milestone in 2007.

France has set a target for electricity consumption from renewable sources of 21% of its total electricity consumption in 2010.
Lagging behind wind power compared to its main European neighbors, France nevertheless has the second European potential (after the United Kingdom) in terms of electricity production from wind energy. Germany with a total installed capacity of more than 15 MW ahead of Spain (000 MW) are the undisputed champions in Europe.
