Ministry of Industry Selects Seven New Wind Farm Projects

Seven wind farm projects were selected by Industry Minister François Loos. Representing a cumulative energy of 278,35 MW, they should contribute to crossing the course of 2000 MW in 2007.

France has set itself a renewable energy consumption target of 21% of its total electricity consumption in 2010.
Lagging behind wind power in relation to its main European neighbors, France still has the second European potential (after the United Kingdom) in electricity generation from wind energy. Germany with a total installed capacity of more than 15 000 MW ahead of Spain (6 000 MW) are the undisputed champions in Europe.
