Review on Deom Turbo / DeomTurbo wood boiler?

by Christophe » 16/04/07, 19:21

We have the opportunity to buy a "micro" wood-fired boiler from Deom Turbo.

This boiler is not in the Deom catalog because it is actually a prototype unit made for a customer who has never looked for it (well, that's what the seller told us). It is based on one of Deom's big wood stove models and would do according to the seller in the 15kW. We could have it at 1500 € HT or 1590 € TTC with VAT at 6%.

Here is what it looks like (be careful, it is "rustic" ... specialists will note the clever regulation of the draft by thermostatic valve):

All this to say that we are strongly interested in the price but would kk1 have feedback on these products?? (I know we already talked about Poeles and they seemed excellent in terms of performance (the look is discussed but good) but what about boilers?)

For example, the sales brochure says that you have to empty the ashtray once or twice ... a year! I can hardly believe it because it is much better than the pellets (which are "intended" to produce the minimum of ash ...)! Likewise, according to this same brochure, this stove works with wood waste and sawdust ... : Shock:

The perfect stove in short? (except the look : Mrgreen: )

I do not know if it's the same thing but I heard today about this type of boiler.
I'm going for a walk tomorrow there would be three to install next to my home.
I'll keep you posted.

Hello,

The only flaw that I see like all the top loader is that it makes smoke come out at the time of loading.
although if the boiler is in anexe and that in principle it is loaded once a day it is less evil.
For ashes a good blast once a day 15 continuously
some shovel ...
10 woods in the spring this is a small pile in the garden.

The boiler will be placed in the cellar, so no worry of smoke.

For the ashes frankly I am still astonished of what is advanced in the technical brochure: 2 cleanings per year ... : Shock:

Finally you know what they say: it is in the old pots (because we can not say that the design of the DEOM is modern) that we make the best soups ... : Cheesy:

I find you very well this stove! Even though the design is rustic, I find it modern by the circulation of the copper coil around the hearth sheet. This will allow you to connect a hot water tank to have hot water (interconnected with your solar thermal is perfect) and / or hot water for your floor heating and other radiators. I think that with 15KW of heating, you can amply have both without any problem.

Like André, the only flaw that I would see him is the hatch on the top and not the front, because of the smoke, but also, how do you turn on such a boiler ... Is there any not a small hatch to light the fire ?! Or do we do that by the trapdoor ?!

I also hope that your cellar has an opening to air it. Because, if one day, it happens that your vent is clogged or that the combustion is not complete, you could have CO in your room ... Hence a good ventilation!
I also read that they made CO detection sensors to avoid accidents. Maybe it is useful ?!

I just found a site that looks good to me:

NB: I did not have time to read it yet! But as at first glance it seemed to me to have the same motivations as here, so, I let you know ...

I could not see the owner of the heating system that I heard about yesterday.
It's a wood burner system! : Shock:
If I can I will take pictures. I'll be curious to see that.
Tomorrow I hope :?
See you

+1 the best information is usually found on "small" sites :D

As for the Deom boiler, we bought it yesterday ... I'll keep you up to date on the assembly and performance :) it may take a few weeks to connect this boiler to the existing network as intelligently as possible. (The pb is that even pros installers will find it difficult to navigate I think in view of the complexity of the existing)

Thank you it's a pleasure! :D

And, if you take a look around the site, you will see that a lot of the subject is similar to "econology" ... They may be a little less detailed, but they are very good summaries ...
