Find images on the forum : deep image search on Google, Qwant ...

by Christophe » 31/05/21, 12:17

You know it has been years since Google (and others) analyze and understand images and more and more relevant every day! For example Google can read a comic, a

For some time now I have been testing the image search tool more in depth and I have discovered subjects, images, super interesting and that I had totally missed (we can not follow everything) at the time of their posting. .it is in fact a Deep search much faster than textual since in the blink of an eye you can see what the subject or the image is talking about ...

To use it just search for the keyword you want in this way to type in google:

code: Select all

site:https://www.econologie.com/forums/ votre mot clé

Preformatted link: search for a picture on the forum

I will add this link on the canvas of the forum

Examples:

Vegetable garden : https://www.google.com/search?q=site:ht ... r&tbm=isch
Battery: https://www.google.com/search?q=site:ht ... e&tbm=isch
Car: https://www.google.com/search?q=site:ht ... e&tbm=isch
Bike : https://www.google.com/search?q=site:ht ... o&tbm=isch

If you are using (still or already : Cheesy: ) other search engines there are similar tools, on qwant:

Vegetable garden : https://www.qwant.com/?l=fr&t=images&q= ... 2F+potager
Battery: https://www.qwant.com/?l=fr&t=images&q= ... F+batterie
Car: https://www.qwant.com/?l=fr&t=images&q= ... 2F+voiture
Bike : https://www.qwant.com/?l=fr&t=images&q= ... ms%2F+vélo

You can also quickly see the difference in indexing between Qwant and Google on images (easier to see quickly than in text ...)

ps: for the classic textual search it is here search.php

With the TOOLS or PARAMETERS tab on these links, you can do in-depth research: geolocated, temporal, format, dominant color ... etc etc ...

By the way, Google analyzes, of course, the text of an image.

So just type a text that was included in the image to find it.

Example with BERTIER

https://www.google.com/search?q=site:ht ... r&tbm=isch

Quickly give: bistro / humor-t1191-14080.html # p431012

Image

It can be very practical!

The bottom link contains a link to this subject also for possible explanations ...

I strongly advise you to use it because I found pearls on the forum that I had never seen!

Already for some unknown reason, the forum has gotten super slow since! I don't know if there is a causal link there, but it is sure it's the kind of thing that slows down ...

It's not my problem but I would point out to you that there are a significant number of people who immediately zap when they see this unnamed “P! Nterest” bullshit, it's really the last thing to put on a forum...! It stinks forum who wants to make money at all costs, and if it's not for the dough, it's very stupid, because doing SEO by pushing people away, you better think of something else !!! It's not very bright and you put your finger in the eye : roll:

You had already tried once, and blah ...

It stinks nothing at all because it brings absolutely nothing financial this button! And even if ? It is true that we should especially not economically support the forum... Know that he has been in survival mode for years ...Just so you can hit each other on the face for free ! : Cheesy: : Cry: : Shock: And this free service may change within a few weeks ...

In short, this button just brings you the ability to save some images ... for those who use Pinterest! I have no idea if it is used a lot because I have no stats of its use ...

I am going to deactivate it for a few days, you will tell us if it is better in terms of speed? It didn't seem to me to slow down any more than that! As soon as I change something I do some testing ...

OK it's noted !

I looked for where it came from but not from my tablet, I have one of the last update:

Be aware that if people do a search on the web and come across an illustration stamped “P! Nterest” (and existing on the fo-fo,) it blocks and they cannot access except to register on “P! Nterest” (that's their goal ... eh ...). Suddenly, they appropriate ALL the image traffic of the forum since their request becomes priority! And so, without knowing it, it is no longer possible for non-members to do otherwise than go through them ... Here is their tip!

So in fact, they're bypassing part of your audience! And they block it ... Since WITHOUT this filth of P! Nterest, people would come straight to the forum...!

[EDIT]: you just removed it ... and YES, it's already MUCH FASTER!

Because you think newer versions of Apple are faster? Isn't it the other way around? Wasn't there a lawsuit against Apple about this? : Cheesy:

Good OSEF!

So basically: I totally agree, pinterest is digital vampirism, like any "good social network" which makes investors hard ... A good RS does not create any content but uses the content of its users! Hence their success from a capitalist point of view ... because humanly it is far from being successes!

But RS is what works in the 2021 web ... I would be curious to see the 2030 web ... : Mrgreen:

So in 2021, Internet users spend more time on RS than on forums... so ignoring them completely is a serious strategic error. You have to test and see the profit / loss ... I admit that it is not easily measurable in many cases (inertia ...)

I just know that Pinterest brings a few visitors to the forum (= it also works in the other direction ...) ... according to THEIR stats : Mrgreen:

ps: I fired the script, is it better for speed?
