Car of the future, future of the automobile, quotes

by Christophe » 23/06/08, 11:15

What does the future of the car have in store for us?

Here are a few quotes from S&A's HS on Clean Cars.

Some much more realistic than others ... not to say that some are rubbish. I'll let you judge ... I put only one in bold: the most realistic.

Vincent Bolloré wrote:No one believes in our process. We, we know it works
About the BlueCar electric car for hire with option to buy, January 2008.
https://www.econologie.com/la-blue-car-l ... -3642.html
P. Guédon wrote:The City in 25 years, it's public transport and electric taxis
He is the creator of Espace Renault and collaborates on the Blue Car
R. Wagoner wrote:By 2012, half of GM's production in the US will be able to run on ethanol
GM Chairman, January 2008
Renault's Environment Director wrote:The environment has become a real opportunity for Renault in the long term

PSA's Research Director wrote:We will have to reinvent automobile pleasure (...) H2 vehicles will represent the real technological leap, but it will take 20 to 30 years to resolve the issue of energy storage.

Gordon McInnes wrote:If nothing is done, the transport sector will soon be the main contributor to CO2 emissions
from the EU Environment Agency, March 2008

C. Ghosn wrote:The electric car, the only one to offer zero polluting emissions, will, over time, gain the advantage over all other alternative energies.
March 2008

T. Walosh wrote:We make a lot of the "green car", but our manufacturers know very well that, as soon as the gallon drops below $ 3, we will continue to put our big American asses in beautiful comfortable pick-ups and spacious sedans.
auto specialist of the Detroit Free Press, in Le Monde of January 18, 2008

J. Jansa wrote:The objective of increasing the share of biofuels in EU fuel consumption to 10% by 2020 has not been called into question. (...) But we cannot rule out the possibility of having to revise our objectives
President of the EU, March 2008

T. Okita wrote:It's a nice car. It is equipped with a Fuel Cell supplied with H2. She doesn't reject anything
designer of the Honda Puyo.

C. Streiff wrote:In the next 20 years, the key to environmental success will still be to develop the most environmentally friendly heat engines possible.
president of PSA, February 2008

And the most beautiful for the end:

Christine Lagarde wrote:The French must ask themselves the question each time whether it is really useful to use his car. You have to be smart and from time to time forget your vehicle in favor of your 2 legs and 2 wheels
French Minister of the Economy, November 2007

Small remark: fortunately she did not say her 2 balls ... because my 2 wheels I am still looking for them : Mrgreen:

Hallelujah! Mass has been said!

She takes her 2 wheels in Paris Mme Lagarde ?? she already sprains herself while walking with her 2 feet !!! and yet she was a synchronized swimming champion, she is surely more comfortable in the water.

But for now it's not too much in France .... : Shock:

When it comes to bicycles in Paris, it is better to have good insurance when the number of accidents in a year and also 3 deaths at Vélib : Evil: (see the other topic).

Hi Christopher,

Good set of quotes; professional deformation requires, I will give the good points and bad points 8)

Vincent Bolloré wrote:No one believes in our process. We, we know it works
About the BlueCar electric car for hire with option to buy, January 2008.

it works, that's for sure. Whether this is economically viable remains to be seen. Considering the prices offered and the Long Term Rental (LLD) business, it seems badly off. Is it a marketing approach for a special electric car or son of an industrialist in need of ecology?

P. Guédon wrote:The City in 25 years, it's public transport and electric taxis
He is the creator of Espace Renault and collaborates on the Blue Car
--
Joke and especially marketing to sell the Blue Car!

R. Wagoner wrote:By 2012, half of GM's production in the US will run on ethanol
GM Chairman, January 2008
--
Very likely if USA / Brazil agreements are reached. In any case, the gasoline / ethanol switch is not really a technological feat, and the ecological balance is also questionable ...

Renault's Environment Director wrote:The environment has become a real opportunity for Renault in the long term

--
Oh yeah ... That's why they don't offer any hybrid cars, even in the next 5 years or more, and why they don't sign a contract with Cleanova.

PSA's Research Director wrote:We will have to reinvent automobile pleasure (...) H2 vehicles will represent the real technological leap, but it will take 20 to 30 years to resolve the issue of energy storage.

--
Hydrogen as an energy vector is pure utopia.

Gordon McInnes wrote:If nothing is done, the transport sector will soon be the main contributor to CO2 emissions
from the EU Environment Agency, March 2008
--
FALSE, it is habitat and industry.

C. Ghosn wrote:The electric car, the only one to offer zero polluting emissions, will, over time, gain the advantage over all other alternative energies.
March 2008
--
FALSE : the electricity currently used is polluting by its modes of production.

TRUE and crying out for realism. Here is an American who does not hide his face, even from his compatriots!

J. Jansa wrote:The objective of increasing the share of biofuels in EU fuel consumption to 10% by 2020 has not been called into question. (...) But we cannot rule out the possibility of having to revise our objectives
President of the EU, March 2008

First generation biofuels are not viable in such proportions from an agricultural point of view. In this area, a new era must be started in the exploitation of biomass, in particular, but not exclusively, the thermolysis of biomass. France is richly supplied with biomass ...

T. Okita wrote:It's a nice car. It is equipped with a Fuel Cell supplied with H2. She doesn't reject anything
designer of the Honda Puyo.
--
FALSE : The generation of H2 is even more polluting than that of electricity.

C. Streiff wrote:In the next 20 years, the key to environmental success will still be linked to the development of the most environmentally friendly heat engines possible.
president of PSA, February 2008
TRUE: but on condition sine qua non to hybridize them. After 150 years of development, the efficiencies of current engines are on a horizontal asymptote ...

Christine Lagarde wrote:The French must ask themselves the question each time whether it is really useful to use his car. You have to be smart and from time to time forget your vehicle in favor of your 2 legs and 2 wheels
French Minister of the Economy, November 2007

Beyond any controversy, we cannot contradict her on this.

I spoke a few years ago with a American green in an eco-organic salon you know what he was saying about his convictions and the USA?

A good American is an American ... anti-American

Not a bad formula, isn't it? : Mrgreen:

ps: Martian, 3 dead in velib certainly and how many in motorbike / scooter / car for the same period? But above all for the same passenger km traveled? https://www.econologie.com/forums/velo-dans- ... t5614.html

Good formula indeed,

Let's say, to qualify a little, that a good American is an American who wonders about the lifestyles and habits of his country.

So he's more of an American :) : Mrgreen:

Don't you remember the burning bush speech (that's my name for bush)?

Our way of life is not negotiable ...

Bush may well be clever with his team of oil-military-industrialists ... it won't last, barely 20 or 30 years, and more ...

Because if there is really a power which does not negotiate, it is Nature. : Idea:

And whatever we put in her nose, she will return it to us in her own way, starting with the disruption of supplies, then climatic disturbances or pollution / scarcity of food. non-negotiable.

Certainly ... The inhabitants of the Far West do not deny themselves as easily as that ... These are the American roots, which refer to strategies that are not very sustainable or humanistic:
- law of the strongest
- control of wealth and its excessive exploitation ignoring the situation of the natives, when "they do not settle their account", it is more effective ...

This little parallel, a little exaggerated, but also quite true shows us that this wild west culture has not disappeared, but simply moved globally, to summarize in the economy, the UN / NATO and the Middle East, these 3 entities forming the infernal trio that it is absolutely necessary to control to establish itself as world No. 1 for the next 50 years.

The staffs of Bush, Mc Cane or Obamah know it very well and in my opinion will stick to it in one way or another (surely more subtle for Obamah than Mc Cane), despite their "modern for the change" and "big smiles. " :|
