Seventeen anomalies and one incident were observed in 2005 at the Doel and Tihange nuclear power plants, twice as many as in 2004. Seven anomalies were detected during the first four months of 2006. This assessment was drawn up by the 'Association Vinçotte Nucléaire (AVN), responsible for verifying the safety levels of atomic installations in Belgium.
For AVN, this doubling of irregularities means that "efforts are necessary to maintain security" in the nuclear installations. The incident was noted at Tihange. The terms "anomalies" and "incidents" refer to a reference scale for nuclear irregularities: anomaly for level one and incident for the second. Accidents happen at level 4 or higher. The unions attribute this increase to the lack of qualified staff. (Belga)

Well, same symptoms and same problems in France, since some EDF staff are sounding the alarm: the budgetary restrictions imposed by liberal policies are directly related to the post of preventive maintenance and inspection of installations, therefore ... increase in "incidents" in perspective from all over Europe (since all of this stems from European directives ...)
Long live free and undistorted competition!

Sorry but when we see the hourly wages of said personal, their bonuses, their budget of the CE and EdF holiday camps ... etc ... in short all the financial and in-kind privileges of being employed by Edf and well this argument, great argument of anti liberalization, does not hold any more ...

If you want, but let's compare what is comparable, the advantages of which you speak, is that slab compared to the enormous budgets related to nuclear in general ...
In addition, the French were rather happy with their officials, during the storm of December 1999, where 70% of the air network ended up on the ground, there was nobody to call them faignasses or privileged!
Make no mistake about the target, the problem is nuclear, and the policy of electric centralism that goes with it!

Heat, consumption
Consumption, heat !!!

Figures to compare electrical consumption compared to the hottest years would be of the most beautiful effect.
If someone catches numbers, I take it.

Who to believe?
On the one hand, we are told that edf is in breach of environmental standards, on the other, the government claims that to avoid violations, edf slows down its production and buys outside !!!

Exactly ... and when there are no storms what do they do? Preventive maintenance? Well don't get angry there is worse than EdF there is the DDE ...
For the refocusing of the target I obviously agree ...
