If you had read the article, you would have noticed that these "pests" are one of the essential links in the food chain. Without them it's a disaster.
80% of the insects have disappeared but we continue to eradicate them, even in a national park (
). All this to please the tourism industry and the assholes who come to burn in the South. There are multiple individual solutions to protect yourself from mosquitoes. No need to massacre everything.

This is exactly the problem of overpopulation / overexploitation of the planet: when neighboring nature annoys it is crushed.
In the Camargue, mosquitoes are gassed and elsewhere, the wetlands are dried up, farms are drained, etc., etc.
And then we complain that biodiversity is collapsing
