The press does not hide anything from us, it fails to say things!

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

Following a reaction from a reader www.lesoir.be about the flight that threatens (devastates) the coasts of Louisiana:

Article and reader's reaction:

(Raaneman, reaction # 8):

The press becomes quite disappointing: it develops agency reports, and then nothing. The profession of journalist becomes galley: difficult to live from: the press owners would do without journalists if they could .....

or rather: "she rewrites things"

Except the special envoys and the investigating journalists. The overwhelming majority of journalists are content to receive dispatches from press agencies, press releases, etc ... and "rewrite" them with other "evils" ...
But it was already true in the days of telex, right?

In a sense yes, but newspapers and TV channels still paid journalists (with reimbursed costs, and all and everything) to follow up on business or to stir up the mud.
Apparently, from what I hear, a journalist who earns the minimum wage is a survivor, and above all, that he does not go to stir up the mud: we could lose advertising revenue, or state subsidies.

In Belgium, the newspapers apparently have a blue jitters to displease the 4 self-proclaimed democratic parties: PS, CDH, PRL, Ecolo and no longer dare to speak of what is happening in small parties: Wallonia France rally, Communist party, Popular party , FN, etc ... whenever their ideas please the public.

To tell of the legal failures of the president of the PP (known lawyer) or that an FN deputy sings Nazi songs in a private meeting, that's fine, but when a deputy from small parties denounces the incompetence or the prevarication of traditional elected officials or does an intelligent proposal to parliament: radio silence!

that the press omits to write certain things is not the most serious thing in itself, but when it distorts or gives false information it is much worse and more dangerous
it is true that at present the press is no longer "big press" and the number of readers is shrinking, but whose fault is it?
too much info? too much intoxication? weariness of readers?
Personally, I no longer buy a daily newspaper or a weekly magazine, I limit myself to technical reviews. the section of crushed dogs does not interest me anymore '(except on orange the main lines of regional news)

Good evening

vast and certainly very interesting subject, though ....

for elephant

your two links from the first post are no longer successful. it would be wise either to update them, or to save the content directly on the econology server, at least we could follow the thread of the discussion without worry.

+1

The problem is that they were "wrong" because of the automatic truncation of the forum which reduces links that are too long so as not to distort the subjects.

Surely elephant copied / pasted them from another message from forum or that he badly re-edited his message ... the links must still exist.

Here is the link of the Diplomatic World:

The link to the reactions to the Evening article has disappeared: too old to be accessible, only the article remains
