Hi everybody
thank you information jonule!
I will learn about bamboos, see what it's worth, because we intend to manufacture it ourselves yurt, so we go around all that can be possible to do and find the right materials , for a quality price ratio at the top.
because all that we could see until it is expensive and not really study well compared to what we seek ..
But I think that we have a good track there, in relation to bamboo for poles, and also for walls, the insulation of walls and the straw floor and the roof with a superposition of cover, we have to find a solution for the outer fabric ..
apparently there will be no miracle products, only tip that I advise but that I must confirm is to use a cotton canvas, or tent and stretch it to the maximum and it is an air gap between the insulation and the fabric, to make it naturally watertight and to prevent condensation and therefore mold insulation.
in relation to his tel, I'll wait a little unless it is very close to the savoie but thank you anyway and if need I will sign you ..
if people have various and varied information that he does not hesitate, it is important for everyone ...
thank you very much in advance ..

Hello everyone.
My medium-term goal would be to build (partially) a small wooden house of about 80 m2 in the south west of France.
As I did not have many means I had thought to create a unique piece of yurt (but with slab, skeptic pit, and wooden wall, to live there all year) and so I'm looking for plans to calculate approximately how much it could cost.
If you with info ...

Hello !
yes, we can build everything in wood!
my friend will add "pure him", a typpie! but a large one, with mezzanine, and straw bale insulation, solar panels for the future etc!
wood: "removable", no need for a building permit etc!
the yurt does not insulate a lot, it must be said.
finish of the tippy (ah I do not know how to write it): crusts of wood, either horizontal or vertical.
next to me a guy in fact, cabins too, then kiosks, all in wood, but do not want to do bizness then you will NEVER find!
no I'm kidding but he's also doing self-construction; he throws himself.
All the best !

Hello,
Nice projects!
I had drawn a dodecagon about 5m of diameter on the ground and 6 with 2m. The center height was 3m50. A mezzanine was planned. But it was too much wood / surface budget ratio (structure, floors, cladding, insulation). So suddenly, as said above but with the image and the winter behind:
A little manouche me tell you but hey ...
Inventory:
24m2 (3x8m2), 2 caravans isolated but one in single glazing,
central part in insulated wood (glass wool and recycled styrofoam),
Straw bale insulation "wall" protected by plastic
constituting an enclosure on the ground. An oversized stove with
air / air exchanger (ciney 2255), an electric radiator
en route to 6h40 in case the internal alarm does not ring at
2h and 6h. And a woman for hot water bottle ... repudiated in the spring
(humor).
Purchased :
caravanne 500 € and a data.
sheets, wood, spikes, screws 400 €
gas water heater, 10 wood steroids in 50 almost not consumed,
plumbing, paints and coatings, etc. 1000 €
My total: approx. 2000 € without the hot water bottle ...
To conclude, I would say that it lacks inertia. The embers contained in the stove maintains frost rather late by -5 ° C.
The wood would have been very restrictive if we had not had any additions.
Parcontre can be very hot, even by -10.
That's it, not very clear but if you have any questions, do not hesitate.

Hello,
hat for the realization, I have a friend who mounts a bio-market multiprojects near my home, he has 2 caravannes ditto he intends to develop them I will talk to him about assembly!
he has his room / office and his kitchen.
he also spent the winter with a wood stove that quickly heats a small space.
and now we are waiting for the summer with pleasure!

the Indians use it for scaffolding, you can bend it as you want by heating it.
No bamboo is not rotproof: it is durable only if it is isolated from moisture and sun: stuck in the ground it rots quickly because it is a real pump moisture ... in the countries tropical or bamboo was a bit unloved for sustainable constructions (bridges, houses ...) precisely because of its low durability (to change every 6mois-1an) sees its interest back since a simple conservation solution has been developed: before use, drying then immersion in a saturated salt solution, re-drying, then protection against rain and sun, in these conditions it becomes very durable: bamboo is as solid as steel, but well lighter, flexible and inexpensive ...
Note that I have a small bamboo garden at home ...

Hello everybody
The use of bamboo in yurts has always left me skeptical.
It is an extra material, no doubt about it, better rapport point resistance.
But drying does not look so easy. All (2 in fact) bamboo yurts that I saw cracked completely, finally their bamboos rather !! Is it really problematic? That would not please me personally.
Then, the bamboo is worked with ligatures normally and not by piercing it like to make a wall of yurts. In this condition, the resistance of the bamboo is, I think, started.
Of course it's cheap and available at a lot of places.
A wood like larch is located in a sawmill in mid-mountain area and does not cost so much, me, I opted for this solution, verifying that it is local larch and not siberia.

Passionate about alternative habitats in general and yurts in particular, the eco-construction, self-construction and ingenuity that often goes with it, as well as the great challenges we have to face in order to leave the planet roughly in good shape. state and a world a little better! At work !
