In marshy areas in the presence of nutria (invasive species), if the water is poorly renewed in winter (stored in basins) leptospirosis will develop... <<< Yes

I said above that you really need rainy winters.<< And as it is less and less the case, it is not the moment to pump in the tablecloths to fill these basins of water which will rot

Uh shouldn't we divide the subject into a subject like "Inter-season freshwater storage?" ?

Because it's interesting but it's not really related to the heat waves there...

Yes or: Exploitation of water resources in France.
It's wider.

A pond, a body of water in good health has clear water in summer and winter. You can't compare a basin languishing in the sun with a body of living water that has sometimes existed for centuries.

Currently, many balances are broken....

And it's not the immoderate use of these bullshit basins that risks reversing the tide, quite the contrary; drinking water is pumped from groundwater to turn it into stale water!

Irrigation: basins cause serious water pollution
by Marc Laimé, November 28, 2019

In Poitou-Charentes, the collective “Bassines non merci” will publicly present on Friday, November 29 the results of analyzes carried out in existing basins which attest to serious contamination of the water by cyanobacteria and legionella.

ARS Notice:
Avis_ARS_05-09-2016_-.pdf The problems are therefore not new!
There is nothing dramatic in your links, only the "precautionary principle" without detail...
Except in the first or Laurent Denise's commentary, which seems much better informed, than the collective with unfounded ideological motivations, "Bassines non merci"
An extract :
Even heavy rain is not a tidal wave! Since 4 11 2019, the Garonne has evacuated 3 billion m3 of fresh water to the sea (flow measurement carried out in Tonneins (see vigiecrue.fr), this represents TWICE the volume of the TOTAL consumption of the ENTIRE New region Aquitaine (agricultural drinking water and industry) ... Annually, discharges into the sea of fresh water by the rivers of New Aquitaine are greater than 15 billion m3 ... for a TOTAL consumption of 1.5 billion ... capturing 10% floods would have less flooding and never more drought...

To regulate the floods it is necessary to create expansion basins and reservoirs... the famous reservoirs that the DDTs cause to be massively destroyed throughout France (the project is at 100 destruction of structures...) in the name of the ecological continuity of the courses of water! Even heavy rain is not a tidal wave when it is managed as far upstream as possible from the catchment areas with reservoirs, it is when we do not regulate that the “tidal wave” occurs!

Water is a common good, nature brings it to all of us in the same way: on the surface and at home, the countryside feeds the groundwater while the concrete of the cities massively diverts the common good towards the sea via the rivers !

Our drinking water distribution network dates back to around the 50s, before everyone made reserves to have water in the summer and each time we ran out of water we built new reserves… just good meaning !
All this is perfectly factual, but once again, some "bobos" have decided otherwise and come to destroy a common good with complete impunity... Hello France!

We talk about "basins", Izy answers you "reservoirs", we talk about "punctures in groundwater", Izy answers you "recovery of water from floods". Another article he has neither read nor understood. Hello flank!
