Latest news: the tips of the pen have not moved ... yet the experience has been going on for a few weeks now (I "seeded" with a few big molard in the morning !!!). : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:

We appreciate your scientific finesse!

Maybe it needs a brew? An aquarium aerator would do the trick!

Well I closed the jar, maybe this is where it hangs? Lack of oxygen?

This is the question I ask myself!

The micro station bacteria have the right to an aerator!

Hello Gregconstruct
Gregconstruct wrote:And the old papers are in what condition?

They are whole, damp, yellowed, dusty, stained and left in the trash. (intimate mails of another age ... doc who do not look at me, invoices, little damaged photos of the former owners ... dead, peace in their soul ....).
A+

To accelerate aging, you open the jar and put it in front of TF1 during the information. The rotting will come from within. : Mrgreen:

It's been 4 months that the test lasts and the pen does not seem to have moved from a YOTA !!

Since it did not move, I added compost from our composter about 3 weeks ago:

And I put everything in the greenhouse to properly activate bacterial development! Since then, there is a layer of mold which appeared on the top but the pen is still in ... "perfect condition": just as "neon green" and hard as at the start of the test!

I'm starting to have some doubts ... about the designation of biodegradability ...

Greg, the biodegradability must be done logically in the absence of oxygen ... underground there is little oxygen from a moment ... but I am willing to try to open the pot to see ...

I have a friend who makes a "test" of the same type with a "plastic" bag in a compost, I will ask him for news of his experience ...

I do not find that very logical precisely: decomposition in nature is done on the ground and in the first centimeters, in the presence of oxygen therefore.

Without oxygen, organic matter decomposes very badly, this is the case of peat bogs or deep sunken piles like in Venice for example.

Hello,
I take this message again because I have a colleague who also experienced it and the result was convincing disappearance (crumbling of the bag) quite fast in the compost (1 to 2 weeks)
