yep, I'm vaguely trying to find a difference / parallel between:
used mineral oil (engine) filtered
refined mineral oil (petroleum)
if we filter them at 1µm for a diesel engine, will the conclusion be "one is 60% carcinogenic, the other 80%"?
PS: true for the ban on waste oil stoves, because the sector was polluted with pyralene.

Already, you don't burn in an oil engine, but a petroleum distillate.jonule wrote:well well.
what is the difference in harmfulness between:
- oil
- used engine oil
filtration?
distillation?
Then, on the link of the first post, we can read: "Used oil is not intended to be used as heating fuel. Oil heated to high temperatures emits various pollutants, such as lead, chromium, manganese, nickel, zinc, arsenic, particles, sulfur and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These pollutants, along with other substances that may have been added to the oil by mistake or without consideration for the environment and public health, are released to the air and ends up in Ontario waters and soils. . Exposure to these pollutants weakens the immune system and worsens respiratory disorders, such as bronchitis and asthma. "
I don't know more about the subject than that, but maybe this can give you some food for thought?

on the link they talk about heating devices, there we talk about car, it is not the same.
the petroleum "distillate" as you say, also contains sulfur and other dirt, coming from refining (the fuel (TM) comes out of refineries), in particular so that you have the impression of not feeling anything.
in addition in the FAP there is cerium oxide ...
I say, it's not worse, ultimately it's the same. there is also yes, combustion temperature etc ...
the main thing is not to breathe the gas from the car we are following very difficult I agree.
The combustion temperature of many heaters is too low to effectively burn the contaminants present in the used oil,

Cerium ...jonule wrote:[...] in + in the FAP there is cerium oxide ...

And so ? Have you read things that indicate that this product is dangerous in the quantities to which it is released by a smoked vehicle using this technology (PSA only, right?)
Besides, I don't really understand what the FAPs are doing in your thinking?

Bonjour à tous
Regarding Cerium, it is supposed to remain 95% in the FAP according to the ADEME document based on PSA measurements ...:

??
no no, that's an official publication: it's not their place to find the info! my my my ....
it's a bit like the EGR valve: they all said it was great, but in fact it's a scam:
one like 'the other, it all depends on the engine speeds!
the analysis on EGR gave less pollution, yet everyone found that after fouling (like the FAP), everything was released into the atmosphere via large black clouds at acceleration! -) otherwise where would come from the smell of bleach?
http://www.nrjrealiste.fr/doc/EGR_FAP.htm
by the way, traceability question, you know where do the FAP and the cerium oxide, additive even at 0.5% it must be a lot of tonnage, given the amount of oil consumed?
and if replaced, by what?
naively yours ...

Where do FAP end up? What do you mean ? The hulls? Monoliths?jonule wrote:[...] in fact, question of traceability, you know where do the FAP and cerium oxide, additive even at 0.5% it must be a lot of tonnage, given the amount of oil consumed?

Cerine, if it is consumed 135 g over 80 km and the FAP stores 000 g, there remains 130 g for 5 km of a product which I have never seen anything harmful ... ( I also specify: the quantities to which it is rejected)
It is not replaced: there is no longer any need! Renault has never used it in its DPFs.
Concerning the EGR, I think that the efficiency of the functioning of a system should not be confused with the problems linked to its aging. To say that an EGR is effective is not a lie!
The only problem is that nobody, in the "official spheres" communicated on the problem of lack of maintenance whereas it must have been known relatively quickly ...
