Oh well yes as soon as exni intervenes it's twisted!

Except that those who boast that this white H2 is an energy blessing and will save the climate are idiots...or at best ignorant...

I think this H2 must be converted on site and especially not transported or used as is...

What should be done with this “white” dihydrogen is an open question.

First of all, we must not get too carried away, I fear that if we hit the deposits hard, we will quickly exhaust them and the natural renewal of H2 will be very slow. As we have never poked our noses into these reserves before, we jump like kids, but we have to tell ourselves that H2 has been accumulating there for a long time, and that like oil, if we start to pump, a few decades will be enough to empty the sites.

So then what to do with natural H2?

Industry already uses a lot of H2, which is mainly produced by steam methane reforming.
* production of ammonia (and cascade production of fertilizers)
* hydrogenation of fats
* production of methanol (by combination with CO2)
* hydrochloric acid (by combination with Cl2)
just these 4 applications would undoubtedly eat up the global production of white hydrogen several times over

less conventional uses of H2:
* fuel cells
* fuels
are in their infancy.
and would still eat up resources several times over if we imagined fueling our transport with H2.

some even propose using it as a reducing agent in metallurgy... there too the quantities would undoubtedly be dizzying.

I found it funny there.

There are also motorized augers, it would be nice if they fueled with H2 : Lol:

a little more seriously, drilling a small hole a few km away is not impossible, but of course the cost of the material is not within the reach of an individual.

Oh damn, I was wrong... nitromethane is CH3NO2 so nothing to do with H2 so... then there were the Nitrous bottles... something else again, maybe H2N2...

So it is rather hydrazine H2N4 that would have to be synthesized with white H2 which would make it stable and transportable and N2 is "infinite"...it is a rocket fuel...among other things : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrazine

ps: nitros in canisters is nitrogen peroxide https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peroxyde_d%27azote N2O4 and it is precisely the oxidant of hydrazine in aerospace...I need to review my (weak) basics in chemistry!! I'm on the hook! : Shock: : Mrgreen:

This is correct, unlike for example in the USA, which largely explains the fracking boom.
