Hello
on my pellet boiler the fan takes time to start, I suppose the capacitor is to blame
it is 1uF 400v, unfortunately I don't have one on hand
but I have a 3uF 400v, according to you, if I put it in will it work?
please

Re: Radial centrifugal fan capacitor: replace a 1 µF with 3 µF?
It's not really my area but if it's a starting capacitor the answer is yes but if it's a capacitor which simulates one phase (powering a three-phase winding in 2 phases) then the answer is probably no...
Or maybe it's the other way around?
Izy will answer you more precisely!

Hello,
Agree with Christophe.
A small value should correspond to a permanent capacitor.
Replace it with triple the value, the engine may not like it.
You can check with a 2000 caliber ohmmeter:
Unload it well before short-circuiting the terminals with a screwdriver.
The value read should gradually rise and then drop back to 0.
If the display does not move, it is broken.
If the multimeter does not have a µF rating, its value can be measured with a battery, a 100 kohm resistor in series and the multimeter as a voltmeter http://ressource.electron.free.fr/ref/F ... sateur.pdf
1 µF/100 kohm charges in ~0,5 seconds

What model of multimeter? The first prizes have an internal resistance of 100 kohm, you have to keep in mind

a single-phase motor without a condo..It won't start. The truth is elsewhere. Probably a very dirty turbine...You wouldn't have spray painted in your boiler room
