Whether it's a small farmer or a very large one doesn't change anything.

Didn't you follow izy's trolls?

They say that corn doesn't use water, because it grows like cacti... : Lol:

What a great Twitter disinformation tool!

It's just a tweeter who wrote this. In reality there are 3 photosynthesis systems:

C3 for plants in temperate environments.
C4 for corn
CAM for cacti

Corn is an interesting plant because it produces much more biomass than typical crop plants. While exploiting it, its cultivation returns to the soil through its roots and residues a good way of storing atmospheric carbon
Corn is a plant producing a significant quantity of biomass, a good part of which is
returned to the ground. Present on French territory on 3,5 Mha, corn cultivation therefore contributes
fully stocked with Carbon. The deposit of carbonaceous residues sequestered from corn in
France can be estimated on average at 15 million tonnes per year, distributed as illustrated on the map

We do not care. 80% goes to export for animal feed.

No, in recent years production is around 15Mt and exports between around 4 and 5.

We also import quite a bit, especially GMO corn from Brazil. : Cheesy:
In its first assessment of the French corn campaign, FranceAgriMer expects that 3,4 Mt of grains will be exported in the 2022/23 marketing year. This is a significant drop (38%) compared to the last campaign, linked to the historic drop in production due to the dry and hot conditions of this summer.

Fodder corn is increasingly used in methane digesters. In my region, methane digesters are popping up almost everywhere. : Mrgreen:

This is not necessarily a bad thing (methanizers), but indeed "feeding" them corn fodder is perhaps not the best idea ever.

To complete the : Idea:
Corn has the best methanogenic power of the cultivated species. Added to this is an excellent yield of fresh matter/ha, which makes it the most productive crop in biogas per hectare. This productivity, coupled with a low production cost, presents corn as the crop with the best economic ratio for producing methane. https://www.terre-net.fr/guide-techniqu ... -l-honneur
, we must replace the energy that is no longer found underground (except very polluting shale oil), but this will be to the detriment of food crops and the potential carbon storage in the soil. :|

The future of future generations is not going to be simple

Why do the media always leave the floor to ignorant people who listen to themselves speak...
