otalEnergies inaugurated its agrivoltaic demonstrator on October 21, located in Channay in Côte d'Or. This is part of the exclusive partnership signed in March 2020 with the German company Next2Sun. The demonstrator integrates the Next2sun technology of structures with two models of bifacial vertical panels, including those produced by the Hevel group. This solution offers maximum efficiency at times of high consumption, at dawn and dusk, while stabilizing the network. “Our partnership with Next2Sun is finally materializing through this demonstrator. We are very enthusiastic about the idea of implementing these innovative solutions, developed with our partner InVivo, which combine agricultural production and renewable electricity. This technology allows us to expand our energy solutions for the agricultural world, production of green electricity, anaerobic digestion, biofuel… ”, declared Thierry Muller, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Renouvelables France.

The 240 kWp park, the construction of which took two months, benefited from crowdfunding to the tune of € 50, 000% of which was collected from the inhabitants of the municipalities of Channay and Nicey. In order to be supported in the process and the choice of crops to be put in place, the collective of farmers and TotalEnergies have joined forces with specialists by forming a working group bringing together the Chamber of Agriculture of Côte d'Or, the local cooperative Dijon Céréales, the agronomic study office Agrosolutions, a subsidiary of InVivo, as well as the innovation center in agroecology AgrOnov. The French energy company will also carry out environmental monitoring studies with its Environmental Studies and Expertise Center (P42E) and its Lacq Study and Research Center (PERL). Finally, studies on photovoltaic panels will be carried out by its R&D teams. These tests and analyzes carried out on this pilot project will allow the group and its partners to benefit from experience feedback to develop more agrivoltaic projects integrating agronomic, environmental, economic and societal issues.
