How to reduce the peak when starting a fridge compressor

by Olphadys » 08/03/23, 07:49

I have a 130w fridge and a 1500VA inverter which apparently can't handle the peak when the compressor starts and kicks in as soon as I plug it in.
I am looking for a way to reduce the peak at startup because at startup it consumes about 6A before going down to 0,4A.
Or if you can help me to shunt the inverter it supports for 3s

The subject was covered here a few years ago (3~4 years?).

I had suggested putting a 24 volt 150 watt lamp in series. A test had shown that the overload at start-up was entirely absorbed by the lamp. Once started, the lamp only lowered the voltage by a fraction of a volt.

Pure sine wave inverter?

1500 VA continuous or peak (= 750 VA continuous)?
