ClimaVerna: suspension control, energy recovery

Innovations, ideas or patents for sustainable development. Decrease in energy consumption, reduction of pollution, improvement of yields or processes ... Myths or reality about inventions of the past or the future: the inventions of Tesla, Newman, Perendev, Galey, Bearden, cold fusion ...

Those who have this technology reserved for the elite will be able to pass the speed bumps without slowing down. : Twisted:

: Mrgreen: You still have to be stupid to put a champagne fountain on your hood...otherwise it will be very funny when it starts to mess up!

Isn't active suspension a French invention from the 60s by Citroen?

1954 therefore, it’s very French, thank you totof! : Mrgreen:

It was when France still illuminated the world other than through the mediocrity of its leaders and the iodiophagy of its people...

HISTORY
1954 Citroën launches the first sphere suspension on the rear axle on its front-wheel drive. And it was a year later during the release of the DS at the Paris Motor Show that the engineers of the herringbone brand unveiled (based on an idea by Paul Magès) the fully hydropneumatic 4-sphere suspension. Pushing their concept to the end in 1961, a prototype based on DS inherited an anti-heave suspension. It allows the car to lean on the inside of the corner by compensating for natural body roll.

Hydraulic active suspension was developed by Citroën.

But as I say, BOSE suspensions or now NIO ET9 go even further. It looks like they read the obstacle to lift the wheel according to the shape detected.

Obviously it's an evolution but the principle remains the same...
Because at the time there were no miniature 6-axis accelerometers and 1 TFlops chips for $1...

Some even put this kind of equipment in ULMs...but only good designers! : Mrgreen:

ps: I still have big doubts about the effectiveness of the thing on a pothole at 90 km/h (or more)... : Mrgreen:

Of course, but 50 instead of reducing to 15-20 km/h, on nice bumps every 200 m often in a straight line, significant comfort.

This type of advantage is likely to become more widespread fairly quickly at the high end. : Wink:
