Test by increasing the cross section of 30% of 4 holes (from 5 to 6 mm in diameter).

Overall, the flames are + light yellow, there are almost no more dark orange flames. The front air zippers completely closed, this seems to heat a little less than slightly open, but the flames remain significantly clearer than before.

Considering the expansion noises you can hear even with an "average" fire, the floor of the fireplace must certainly be warmer than before. If it is, it will not blow the insert ... : Mrgreen:

Hello

Can you give feedback on your changes? the system did not fool the house? ;-)
Regarding your last message you talk about this plate that has improved the combustion and performance however did you keep the chenet and the air intake plate of the zippers according to 3 + 6 scheme?
Regarding the deflector do you have a photo?

I'm seeing to build the plate

thank you in advance for your return

Sorry but since 2015 I changed this insert for a pellet stove ... It finished the winter 2015 without problems in the config described above. I think his main problem came from the exhaust much too big / free which I recovered too little heat.
