Peach trees are blistering for one that makes them look bad at the start. It lacks direct sunlight. The other has leaves but is 4m high. Only the one who is against the house is magnificent with peaches that form. It is dry, rising sun. Ideal what!
Hope for one of the two apricot trees: there are fruits that are growing !! Not a thousand, but maybe a hundred by looking well. That said it can still fall to the ground.

Yesterday, I did a large series of sowing with the children: about 25m2 of carrots, radishes, salads, beets, chard, parsley, onions, leafy cabbage and kohlrabi, fennel, turnip.
Not under cover, but on the melon board last year. There was a tarpaulin over it, warm earth, some tufts of grass and a pleasantly fine earth. The cover will be put on as soon as everything is lifted.
This week, I prepare the summer plots (planting in a month), making the first hay and thick layer.
And preparation for my experiment: clear cut of a small portion of meadow and direct sowing of corn, creeping squash, snow peas, buckwheat
I'm just not yet decided on the exact protocol ...

A first small layer of fresh hay, for the melons to plant in a month. I will put a second coat in a week. About 12m2

And the future experimental no-till plot (which will probably fail but must be tried before)

And one of my favorite pastimes: grafting fruit trees. I must have grafted over a hundred here ...

Here, the experimental square is ready. It remains to be seen if I cover before planting or if I plant and I cover later after emergence.

You graft without using putty, stretch film, is that it in the photo?
Only badges?
Or also split.

For the badges and chip budding I use buddy tape (stretch tape to graft). When there is a need for more tightening (slit or crown) I also put elastic grafting tape. The escutcheon grafts are done well in sap unlike the slits, crown etc which are done earlier preferably. In patch it works very well in August too !!

In the photo it is an August almond transplant

It is jostling in the pots, it is time that May arrives to put everyone in place ....
The tomatoes are tall, it will be practical to plant in 20cm of hay.

The plot of tomatoes and peppers in preparation. I still had to turn on the sprinkler before covering it was so dry, in case it doesn't come from rain. Well water
I was thinking of inserting a bean or soy bean between each foot of tomato. I never did that so why not?
