No!, What the minister revealed, Macron had promised in January 2018 http://www.anjou-agricole.com/actualite ... I168G.html

In the video, it looked like Janic when he spoke badly about the asbestos problem, which medicine had denounced very early, but industry and politics have turned a deaf ear for a long time, as Moindrefor reminded.

What the Minister revealed, Macron had promised in January 2018 http://www.anjou-agricole.com/actualite ... I168G.html

An excellent definition of conservation agriculture:

November 2017:
I asked the government to take the necessary measures so that the use of glyphosate is prohibited in France as soon as alternatives have been found, and at the latest in 3 years.

January 2018:
"In his vows to agriculture on January 25, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron confirmed the 3-year deadline for the ban of glyphosate, implying however that flexibility could be granted to agriculture in conservation and sloping surfaces. "

January 2019:
This time, it is in the middle of a "National debate", and while the ecological transition is officially part of the subjects under debate, that Emmanuel Macron backs down again: there will be neither prohibition, nor end of the use of glyphosate in France by 2021.

Well, those who saw this ban as an aberration, see it as a return to reason, and therefore an advance. : Wink:

We weren't talking about that, but broken promises. In this sense, without taking sides on the good (or bad) basis of his decision, it is indeed a step back (to remain polite). : Mrgreen:

Well, I don't mind at all that a politician realizes his mistakes and draws the consequences, it is unfortunately too rare
PS: For your 4,5 billion, wouldn't you confuse turnover and profit sometimes?

That's right, you confuse profit and turnover.
The interest of weedkiller manufacturers is that glyphosate is banned and offers other patented molecules. And incidentally, almost certainly, more toxic, less effective and more expensive

I did not confuse anything at all, I summarized the sentence of "La Croix". No more. They don't talk about profit but (I'll give it to you):
A precious molecule since it reported that year nearly 4,3 billion euros to the American firm, or about 30% of its total sales worldwide.

Pffff .... glyphosate has been in the public domain for a long time, the Bayer / Monsanto "roundup" is like a generic, it pays more. Even if the sales volume is important, the juicy margins were before, when they sold it 4 times more expensive because they had the monopoly. It doesn't seem so difficult to understand.

That's right, 4.3 billion turnover and 30% of total sales is negligible. : roll:
