In the US there is (or at least existed five years ago) a company that "rents" you diapers, you use them like disposables, except that twice a week they take the "trash" and take them away. diapers to wash them and deliver the clean diapers to you.

On another note, and here it only concerns girls, there are plenty of ecological and much healthier alternatives than disposable tampons and pads. But here I pass you the details (for now), I saw forums to depopulate by half when the subject has been launched (will understand ...).
