there is no contradiction! In Judaism as in Islam, the preservation of life trumps everything else, including precepts food. Afterwards we can discuss the means and products used and their low viability, but we leave the "religious" domain.

the JWs like all Protestant heirs to Catholicism, the food precepts have been removed from "rules" to follow and therefore they eat pork like other kosher products.
Their only restriction is the absorption of the blood of animals (including humans) by natural means such as through the digestive system or by introduction into the body by other means. The ignorant merdias considered them as a sect refusing life even though it is the opposite, life is much more important than a transfusion hence the blood substitutes used during medical interventions.

Very fair, but religions don't preach veganism. So the lives of piglets, calves, rabbits, etc... are less important to them than their pleasures of the table with all its consequences which can lead to having a heart transplanted from their victims. The world upside down!
