Flotec pump problem on booster pump

by cyrille » 25/08/09, 16:26

bjr all,
New on this forum, I ask for a helping hand more experienced than me; concerning a booster.
I installed the hardware 10 months ago. Recently the pump has been defused every day. I believed in a small air intake !?
But for two days impossible to re-prime it.
The installation: well water height 4m, 8m on level ground. Strainer - non-return valve - filter - flotec pump and pressure switch, all on a 100l tank.
I have purged, changed the check valve of the strainer; check the connections. Nothing helps, the only times ke I managed to reboot, it is kan I immersed the strainer in the pool of my daughter! the problem at that time was the excess air in the circuit. So much pressure that pushing back towards the strainer kan the pressure switch stopped!
At your disposal for more information thank you in advance.

hello cyrillus
So much pressure that pushing back towards the strainer kan the pressure switch stopped!

only possible cause: the valve of the strainer lets through.

Hello Cyrille and welcome to Econology!

You can decouple the pump from the motor and check if there is water because if the seal leaks because if this is the case you will not be able to draw water from 4 meters high, check the filter and all junction with beard cream to see if it is swallowed.

Here is the PDF (in English) of your pump that can help you if you take it apart.

In addition to the static checks that you practiced, would it be possible to do it dynamically? That is to say, once the tank is under pressure, raise the end of the suction above the water level and see if there are any leaks.

The presence of the filter downstream of the pump can cause possible air intakes, it would be preferable for it to be located upstream, in which case only leaks would occur in the event of a leakage problem.
