Fire detector (where to place them?)

by Pear Belle Helene » 18/01/09, 13:20

I don't know if I'm in the right section but at worst Christophe will move (thanks in advance)

Here I buy smoke smoke detectors but the problem is that the upstairs bedrooms are under the eaves and therefore only one with a ceiling, the others have slopes.

So we don't agree with zhom on where to install them.
In training I was told that the smoke went straight to the top of a room, except my husband said it's not true in the case of a slope and suddenly he wants to put them lower on the wall.

Do you have any advice please or a site to advise me.

Thank you and have a good Sunday.

Hugs. Helena

Hello
# If the ceiling and the wall are at an angle (attic), mount the smoke detector about 1 meter from the top of the wall or ceiling

Hello

Not too close to the kitchen, the slightest smoke toast or cooking may trigger it

Usually all on the ceiling
I put one above the electrical input box, another without the basement on the ceiling (for the wood stove)
Another in the hallway of the bedrooms
Do not forget to change the batteries once a year and to do a real test (Some municipal regulations require smoke detectors) some install CO detectors.
