On the patent, there is Peugeot before Renault ...
There are not many different things: the sum of the cross sections of the small pipes seems equal to that of the gas inlet: there is no vacuum.
As the whole is a kind of fireplace heated by gases, with small rods, I think that everything is at the same temperature; there is no hot and cold zone where molecules electrify.
High voltage is added to create an arc, and make a plasma to completely burn off the gases discharged: surely effective for unburnt, and decompose molecules, better than a catalysis pot or a particle filter, but a contribution of electricity is needed, the calories released are lost ...
Significant electrical insulation is necessary to pass the arc; the ceramic is there, also to resist the excess (wasted) heat.
The ceramic, present for the two preceding reasons, is not used in the pantone.
This is what I see.
