Hello,
How can we correlate the purity of water with the number of ppm?
I have a small electronic device (TDS EZ) that measures ppm.
I measured different waters: mineral water, rainwater filtered or not, filtered tap water or not.
The results leave me totally perplexed ....
Water ppm measurement

That is to say? What are the results?
Certain mineral waters widely distributed are "non-drinkable" within the meaning of the standards of drinkability applicable for example to "tap water" (with regard to dissolved salts, which your device measures).

Re: Measurement of water ppm
Have you calibrated your device with a standard solution before? Did you rinse it with distilled water afterwards?

Re: Measurement of water ppm
Hello,
Ppm of what? (ppm meaning just part per million)
Measure by what process? (in my opinion a simple measure of resistance)
Here is a useful comment I think, found at the bottom of this object on amazon:

The results:
159 - tap water
162 - filtered tap water
165 - bottled water from a brand saying it has 200ppm of good minerals
210 - of "evian" brand spring bottled water saying it has 345ppm of good minerals
So essentially this device doesn't matches the standards of 2 companies and there is no reason to trust it. The numbers it give could be no matter what.
Wasted money.
It would be better to buy some reactive strips.
Now take into account that tap water will not have the minerals your body needs. So you will probably do a better investment going with a 7 stages filter with remineralization stage which adds the needed minerals after removing everything else.
