It must be recognized that the safety of cyclists is really a concern, I went to Brussels again on Thursday for professional reasons ( and my ladder was stolen from me) we see them much too late and we sometimes wonder their intentions in complex intersections. There are more and more, the traffic becomes more and more complex, it's not joy.

Ehhh yes, this is where we see that Belgium is far more advanced than France in this matter: in France, it is trips by car (or motorbike) that are deductible from taxes. If you change your car for a bike, you pay more taxes

well I must contradict you, the recumbent bike is very visible. especially because we put a flag at the end of a mast.
personally, I even put a small rotating wind sock cut out of a safety vest. it works really well.
in fact, motorists perceive us as dangerous because they see us, but find it difficult to interpret the message that their eyes convey to them. they therefore take longer to identify the danger.
Personally, I have never had problems with cashiers, they take twice as much margin to overtake me than they do with upright bikes. I feel perfectly safe.
on the other hand, I do not have fun going up the lines of cars like a nag, because I know that I am not very visible when I come from the back. so I go very slowly.
but everyone sees me when I drive, there is no doubt about it.

logic: riding a bike or going on foot is FISCAL GETAWAY: it is shameful: have you already calculated the shortfall in the state? Not to mention that, if you have more money, you have more freedom! You might even start thinking in the pillory, and quickly!
in Belgium, you pay a road tax, and when you have a diesel, you pay a supplement to compensate for the excise duties that you avoid!

thanks for the compliment, i'm flattered. if wisdom generally awaits the number of years, it is because it comes from experience. in this case, it did not wait because it came from the experience of another, a "right" cyclist who was riding in front of me and took a door in the plexus, showing me live the effect that it makes.
this anonymous cyclist will also live, but he suffered and paid dearly for his experience. he was lucky and could still move all of his limbs when I left him in the hands of the firefighters.
to answer jean63, the weight of a complete hull reaches a maximum of 7-8 kg, 6 if we manage well, and the average weight of an assisted velomobile in legal mode 250W 25km / h is 35kg.
it's heavy, but the assistance is there for that.
a priori, as I intend to do in the economy for my engine, I will not have battery regeneration thanks to the engine in dynamo mode. I will therefore have a maximum range of approximately 25 to 50 km depending on the use of the engine and the route, and this with a 280Wh battery, or 12Ah in 24V, or 20Ah in 14V.
this mode of transport, whether velomobile or assisted recumbent bicycle seems to me to be the most ecological for the moment in urban environment. unfortunately, I cannot bring myself to describe it as ecological because of its price.
we would like this type of bike to develop to take advantage of the lower costs due to mass production ...
while waiting for this day, there is always the possibility of making yourself a recumbent bike for cheap:

I started making a wooden bike, the design being mentioned in this forum:

the end of the realization is planned for the summer ...
