Hello,
I plan to buy a sofa at a company near Grenoble ( https://www.onatureshop.com ) which offers ecological sofas in water. Do you think it's ecological or it's green washing?
The water jabinth is an invasive species (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacinthe_d%27eau) so use it to make furniture. However, that made it come from Viet Nam and there is a risk that it is cultivated for it and thus worsens the phenomenon.
On the other hand it is a shame to use wood (often mixed with glue) if we can make products with plants that grow fast and which we want to get rid of.
Do you have any reviews on Onature products, there are very few on the internet.
We look forward to seeing you!
Arnaud

I tried this sofa at my daughter's the other day. Frankly, it's pretty cool. The fairly sleek and fluid design is very nice.
On the ecological side, it's hard to say, there isn't enough perspective. It's still greener than leather sofas. In fact, you can compare it to a Scandinavian fabric and wooden sofa. The only limit is the price. It is still not given. For comfort, it's ok without being ultra comfortable either.

Hi, yes indeed if it comes from Vietnam it is not very ecological. In France we have flax, especially hemp. This is already well known and mastered, when it is of good quality it lasts for life.
I think we have a green washing startup there.
EDIT, I did not understand that it was for the structure. In these cases there in made in France we use wicker or bamboo.

It turns out that I bought one from them ... it's complete shit: Seat too vertical and too low, soy foam cushions (it looks like they abandoned it) that do not cushion nothing, sitting in the same foam that hurts the heart, price. I'm going to bazard it on the veranda or burn it next winter, I can't see it anymore.

Thank you GuyGadebois, suddenly I didn't buy it luckily. I took one at La Camif, apparently they pay attention to the ecology with indication of the origin, etc. I hope it's not greenwashing yet.
