Uh, I forgot.

"Mandatory" generics, I am not against. Yes, there are doctors under the influence of labs and their medical representatives. My doctor put up a poster: "no more than 1 medical visitor per day"! It is that it had to scroll!

generics, a real good idea, or not?

Hello,

personally, I have a big problem with generics! : Evil:

It seems a good idea, initially, however: drugs identical to those patented, but without brand and for 30% cheaper on average.

Except that...

they are not completely identical! indeed, the excipients are often different and can cause problems (risk of side effects or even less effective treatment!).

second, this market is much less regulated / monitored than that of patented medicines. Result? Less precise dosages! For most meds, it is not necessarily dramatic, but with regard to anti-epileptic drugs (which I have been taking for a while), it can be dramatic.

A specialist (neurology) who follows me regularly confirmed my doubts: some of his epilepsy patients have had epilepsy attacks following the switch to generics! She prescribed them dare-dare the original drugs ...

And by doing a little research, this neurologist found only ONE serious generic lab in which she trusted (based on experience). I would not advertise, so I have her name available to you by MP only.

Regards,

BM

Info to put in perspective: India is not innocent in this case; it is one of the big producers of generics (and moreover, illegal copies ...).

I doubt it was a completely neutral decision. Even if it goes in the right direction, that is to say cheaper anticancer ...

Only if these generics are not ineffective and dangerous copies! (already that the products are toxic and dangerous by their chemical nature)
