To read again:

I used these fittings for another part of the installation (no, it's not for drinking water!), and I may have put teflon tow, but it still leaks! Hence my question on glue.

I am frightened to put the tow in the threads of these fittings with O-ring and tightening, because it really does not have the mechanical sense of leaks !!!

Many thanks to Aerialcastor for your very educational explanations.
As Obamot had suggested, I was talking about teflon tow (not the flat ribbon, but the cord made of tow and covered with teflon).
Neither is apparently suitable for plastic fittings

So I will redo my fittings without Teflon.javascript: emoticon (': evil:')

Sorry for the purists I may have offended. : Oops:
