Hello econologists,

Here is the last batch in GTE85 +; the 19th cycle of 100 hours of driving

Image

I summarize : more than 4600 km traveled at an average of 47 km / h,
* CO2 reduction X8,
* cost reduction X2.5
* financial savings: 250 €
.

All details here

The summary of the 19 cycles and their parameters is available: in this Excel spreadsheet

Hello econologists,

My car is running very well and here is the last batch in GTE85 +; the 20th cycle of 100 hours of driving

Image

I summarize : more than 4800 km traveled at an average of 49 km / h,
* CO2 reduction X10,
* cost reduction X3
* financial savings: 285 €
.

All details here

The summary of the 20 cycles and their parameters is available: in this Excel spreadsheet : Idea:

With only 2.1L / 100km of E85, This XX cycle is one of the best achieved since the start of the GTE85 PLUS experiment

:) And the GTE85 + has exceeded 100 km since its reprogramming. :)

Best cycle ... This is normal ... She has just finished breaking in the heat engine : Cheesy:

The results of 100 km in a flexfuel plug-in hybrid vehicle powered by photovoltaic solar energy

Image
To date, the GTE85 + has accumulated: 2020h of test, 101660 km traveled, € 5764 in fuel savings and around 12790 kg of CO2 which have not been emitted into the atmosphere (based on 6L / 100km - 143.5 gCO2 / km : 14588 kg emitted in fossil fuel).

Carbon footprint 8 times lower than an equivalent Golf 7 with gasoline engine

2,7 L / 100 km of E85 + 8,7 kWh / 100 km of renewable electricity

Report of the last filling of 40L with SP95

: Arrow: which allowed me to cross 2523 km

Image

: Arrow: up to 2650 km!

Actual costs for 100 km:
* Fuel: 1,5 L / 100 km x 1.50 € / L = 2.25 €
* Electricity: 9.8 kWh x 0.20 € kWh = 1.96 €
Total: 4,21 € / 100 km

CO2 emissions: reduction of one factor 4 compared to an equivalent gasoline Golf 7 which would consume 6L / 100km.

This experience with a full of SP95 brings many lessons:
* at first reading, we can be delighted with the very low fuel consumption at 1,5L / 100km, in E85 I would have been closer to a small 2L / 100km
* HOWEVER we do not have the renewable lever of E85, and the reduction in CO2 emissions is only 4, instead of more than 10 if I had driven on E85

* also financially, at more than 4 € / 100km, it is 30% more expensive than driving on E85 (I would have had here in the 3 € / 100km)

Conclusion: E85 and renewable electricity are perfectly complementary to give consistency to the use of a hybrid vehicle. The performance econological is only limited if we do not move towards a renewable fuel.

for the 7th time, the GTE85 + exceeds 2000 km traveled with a single refueling of E85

2206 kilometers traveled
with a single small tank of 37.5L in E85

: Arrow: up to 2400 km!

Image

Consumption:

* SP95 gasoline: 1,7 L / 100 km
* Electricity: 10 kWh / 100 km

Actual costs for 100 km:
* Fuel: 1,7 L / 100 km x 0.57 € / L = 0.97 €
* Electricity: 10 kWh x 0.20 € kWh = 2.00 €
Total: 2,97 € / 100 km

CO2 emissions: reduction of an 12 factor

Energy cost: reduction of an 3 factor

I had fun calculating the burnt fossil fuel:

1 ° petroleum gasoline 1.7 * 0.15 = 0.255L / 100km ...
2 ° ethanol fossil content: 1,7 x 0,85 x 0,33 = 0.732 L / 100km
Total: 0.477 L / 100 km
3/4 L per 100 km of fossil fuel O :)

It's great to see all these beautiful results, “it makes us happy by proxy” I might say ... :D : Lol:

I do what I can on my side ... Now in town at red lights with my old Ford transformed for E85, I cut the engine before reaching the lights, taking advantage of the last inertia of the vehicle and also downhill . No risk because front / rear disc brakes (therefore very effective handbrake direct on the discs and effortless). As I do not drive more than 2 revs and the idle speed is 000rpm. It saves a lot of the time, since it drastically reduces my average consumption in the urban cycle. I just wonder if it will not prematurely wear out the coil / starter couple ...? And for how long? How many cycles are these devices expected before releasing? This is what he tells himself: https://www.vroomly.com/blog/quelle-est ... demarreur/

So, if it breaks down prematurely, I wonder if the game is worth the candle!

21st batch of 100 hours of driving in Golf GTE85 PLUS

Image

Key numbers

CO2 emissions divided By 12
Energy costs divided By 3
Over 300 € saved on this cycle of 100 hours and almost 5000 km compared to gasoline.

Fossil fuel used for 100 km (estimate)
1.6 x 0,15 + 1,6 x 0.33 x 0.85 = 0.688 L / 100km, or a little less than 0.7L / 100km

all the details in link here
