Hello everyone!

The problem anyway is that it may be overcooked or not enough depending on the mood of the Sun ...

But it's nice; enough to spend a small meal fun and enjoyable.

I do not think anyone will dispute here that this is a brilliant kitchen for illuminated diners :D

Hello,

Strange to see that this type of solution is developed for the most "deprived" among us and that others find it funny.

Is the energy efficiency of this concept so ridiculous?

In advance thank you for clearing my lantern.

If you have a gas oven or wood or any other means of cooking on hand, it may seem at best a fun or a gadget, at worst an object worthy of mockery.

But there are places where you can not find a stove, nor city gas or running water, etc. The only viable cooking medium then becomes solar energy. Which is often quite reliable in these places!

There are also methods of potabilisation (what a horrible word) of water by solar energy.

Hi Fanfaron, 8)

No, it's quite effective with a cloudless sky, and, I do not know if you live in France, but it is 2 month that we have rain almost every day in the Ile de France.

The small calculation above is valid only in summer, this power is divided by 2 see 3 in winter, so you would need around 4m ² sensor, if it's nice of course

so, yes, in our latitudes, it's funny

Now you could do a fixed installation, type barbecue with 6m² or more mirrors, protected from the wind etc .. but it will not change the weather

Side profitability, a beautiful parable like the one above, costs the purchase around 300 €, it makes electric grills ...

Ecology side, it's great but will offer that to the inhabitants in the city

Bonjour à tous

Image

Here with our monsoon it makes you laugh, but more than 25 years ago there was a guy named Sugier (plus another whose name I do not have) who worked at the UN on "development" in Africa. He had laid something equivalent for the sub-Saharan countries (no lack of sun).

The principle was to try to stop the deforestation and therefore the advance of the desert by giving a means of cooking to the natives who are not wood. The most difficult was to design a parable very economical (at best produced in Africa) that can be repaired, maintained on the spot without modern means etc. The other difficulty was to make understand to completely illiterate populations that it is necessary to install the bousin horizontally and it must stay clean. (that it does not clean with sand ...)

For the orientation of the parable, they had found something super simple and awesome for those who have no notion of geometry, when it was well adjusted, the sun was drawing a cross on an ad hoc support. (if I remember the place well or fails the pan).

Since others we re-invented the thing, but which comes from Western countries, very expensive, not repairable on the spot and which gives a good conscience to those who want to "help" .....:frown: and broken down and abandoned in just a few weeks .... then converted back into any other object as a raw material.

A+

Very much agree with your African analysis

It's water, education and development they need

it's funny, I had the idea (with large parabol of recovery) there is qlq time, everyone told me that the yield would be shabby! : Shock: yet exactly the same design!

of course they need it in the east to develop and sell it to our French boogie bobos (it's a point of view)!

an international development site:
http://solarcooking.org/francais/plans.htm

the "Hotpot" (tm) is rightly protected by ... a patent.

it is within their reach, there is more simple in any case than a solar dish which will be "in full wind"!

it is better to favor "the box", which will be protected from the wind by a window, will amplify the greenhouse effect (the desired effect) and will make "Norwegian pot": even when there is more sun, we close the cover and it continues to cook by 3 means (convections, etc ...):

And again, YES, it goes easy on a balcony as on the terrace! -)

This one is not bad:

:D

I wonder if the room will not inflate faster than expected? Must moor the window to the buoy.

Oh, yes, as long as we are there! :D

Easy to take out two windows of 2m² from his car : Cheesy:
