Come on... Hearts up, friends... Another retiree who has just offered me his bike which has been sleeping under a blanket since he no longer feels like taking it out....
I think I'm going to break down again... Well this time I'm going to go down in displacement... I'm coming back to mopeds...
Suzuki 1100GSXR 1995.. 45000km
Apparently this model. Full stock, according to the owner, almost ex-factory condition...
I can't let this go to a young guy who will crash it in 2 days...

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
it's a very nice motorcycle.
In my town, a guy had one in black with purple rims. He did the kéké with it. His main activity was going to the bistro to drink and have his vroom vroom.
The machine is powerful, with an impressive front disc brake.

It is the combination of these two activities which means that today these machines are often modified into café racers (no more fairings)

two impressive front discs In its free version (not restricted to 100hp as in France) it had to display 145hp and a Vmax of more than 300 km:h

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
It's still heavy and it must consume quite a bit.
I had a Suzuki 1200 Bandit model 98 (it's the same engine base) with the Yoshimura exhaust and camshafts. A good 10 liters but it sends very very strong and it is ideal for carrying.
Today it’s Triumph 1050 Speed Triple. Great solo and 5 liters of consumption

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
The consumption of a motorcycle doesn't really matter to me. When I want to ride a motorcycle, it just has to give me pleasure between two gas stations I ride a motorcycle relatively lightly. Well the Goldwing I put 3500 km on it this summer which is a lot for me (but hey I used it regularly to go to work which I haven't done for years)

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
Motorcycles are ridiculously gluttonous compared to a car, they sometimes consume as much, or even more.

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
A slightly unbridled 50 consumes as much as an “average” car. I had an unrestrained Kawa 125 (24HP), at full throttle, it consumed 7L/100... Motorcycle engines are not of the same standards as those in crates.

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
Yes in consumption for equal power-to-weight ratio.
But you have to compare it with a Formula 1 car.
My Speed of 130hp for 190kgs sends a lot of G.
The most important thing is to hold the handlebars well. And as the torque at low revs is fantastic, vigilance is required at all times.
Strongly not recommended for young people.
Driving like a psychopath I can't even exceed 5,8l/100, that's the magic of the 3 cylinders.
Hyper sports tires obligatory but dangerous in the cold, it's soap

My 650 BMW XCountry consumes less than a 125HP 15 but it makes 53HP...

Re: Moto passion: the bikers of forum
And yes, it is the efficiency of small engines that is not good.
When I took 2 months off my license with my 750 VFR they lent me a scooter with an 80 kit and a big carburetor that hit 120/130km/h.
It consumed much more than the bike and the tank is very small.
So uncomfortable that I got hemorrhoids
