Syrup???? Doesn't that fall into mistreatment?

Well you see how I finished ???

[I assure you, it was exceptional - to give a little taste to the water. But it's true !]

Eh yes. Until 1956, children could drink up to half a liter of wine, cider or beer every lunchtime in the canteen… and did so cheerfully! https://www.pariszigzag.fr/secret/histo ... la-cantine

I remember it was good and refreshing. Proportion: in a Duralex glass, 1cm of wine, the rest in water, the latter coming from a fountain in the village and which we sought in enamelled buckets.

Oh no, not possible, if you invite my husband and me, there won't be enough for two more big eaters of this dish. No no no : Cheesy: (mine went to the forcing at the beginning of the week, to be continued)

totally agree, here it's a "normal" dish for two : Mrgreen:
2 beautiful endives, each in its slice of ham, that's the dose : Mrgreen:

anyway, congratulations, nice harvest
how many buckets of this kind could you make?

Not far from a 20aine, result of a sowing of 2 times 6 m.
Currently we are halfway through the harvest.
I'll say it again: it's really not rocket science to cultivate these roots and then turn them into endives away from the light.

When you effectively trap mole rats!!! Me, on two rows, without trapping, there are only 3 or 4 roots that have survived! They love it, saligots...

Here, in 2021, I must have caught more than 200 mole rats and field mice. I took 3 days ago. The problem: you have to spend a lot of time looking for suitable locations and then setting traps to ensure the best chance of success. This for a field as large as that of Didier.

This is one of my biggest "penalties". It's not a lot of time, but it's every day!

The "plant-martyrs", that helps me. These are the plants they like, placed randomly rather on the periphery: artichokes, various root vegetables (celery, tuberous parsley - or ordinary parsley for that matter), various decorative plants (such as blue thistle or Eryngium)... Like this , I know where to look!
