Yes, the tomato is amazing. I cut off the scions that had detached from the rootstock. Without agronomic interest (since suddenly I have a "free standing" as if I had sown it). But just out of curiosity. And although flogged at the start, it has recovered. Ditto for gourmet cuttings ...
And therefore layering ...

Re: Lazy Gardener in Loire Atlantique
Basically it was the tomato that made me think and then change my way of gardening (it's cool anyway, a plant does not think, but can make you think): in 2018 I did not have time to take care of my vegetable garden, but, since you never expect the vagaries of life, I had sown seedlings, and as I do not voluntarily let what I sow die, I put tarpaulins in the vegetable patch and I planted. Life got carried away, I couldn't install all the stakes, the watering was random, and my tomatoes grew as best they could. When I wanted to remove the tarps in the fall, I had a hard time, but really, because of the roots of the tomatoes. Huge revelation, this length and vigor of the adventitious roots.

yes but your climate is probably less favorable. In Loire Atlantique after May 1 we are no longer too afraid of frost (it can happen). Over the garden there was just a hailstorm that damaged the unprotected plants.

News in photo of my sweet potato trials.
A whole potato planted in a pot with potting soil in early March and kept in the apartment until mid April then put in a mini greenhouse and planted in the ground in mid May.
Potato put in a glass of water (avocado style) in February keep in the apartment until mid April then potted in a mini greenhouse and planted in the ground in mid May.
Piece of potato put on potting soil in February keep in the apartment until mid April then potted in a mini greenhouse and planted in the ground in mid May.
I also tested the solution taken from a germ and put it in a glass of water but there is no difference with test 3. I am not even sure that it is the right photos.
Conclusion (may be premature because we will see at harvest) the lazy that I am will choose solution 1 next year. The tutorials that I saw on the internet give plants less vigorous than the simplest solution. The "avocado" solution still has less yellow leaves, will this have an impact on the harvest?

For me, the potato put down lying (flat) in a pot with potting soil, very early, is the best compromise: this produces many rejections; when they go underground, they take root; you detach, you put in pots to transplant when the time comes (it's chilly!) ... With one atate you have ten! And the potato itself, you replant it too (leaving it 2 or 3 stems).

Re: Lazy Gardener in Loire Atlantique
I had 2 varieties, with 3 potatoes, during the jelly of May 11, I did not take in the sweet potatoes, nice mistake, one foot that froze 100%, the other of the same variety, well damaged but not fully cooked and the other of a different variety almost nothing, so I will pamper this foot to make me my future variety of sweet potato, even if not to eat this year, or those from the foot of the survivor jelly

Re: Lazy Gardener in Loire Atlantique
Yesterday, 11/6, it rained a good part of the day around 30mm. In some places it didn't even cross the hay layer everything was pumped by it I guess.
Curious phenomenon on my zucchini. The first ones formed very early around May 15th. I waited for them to grow, finally I harvest them small then, surprise 3 days after I had some of reasonable size (10 to 15cm). I harvest them and it starts again, I have lots of small ones that do not grow while the already large feet continue to make huge leaves.
I have the impression that it is an imbalance, the plant has so much food that it "thinks" of growing rather than producing.

Do you not pick unfertilized fruit ???
The female flower is on what looks like a small zucchini ...
But at this time, the male flowers are often missing. And therefore no fertilization ... So the small zucchini, which would become a large zucchini if and only if the flower is fertilized, remains small, then "aborts" (turns yellow, and "rots") ...
A dark history of temperatures - each cucurbit reacts differently, but when it is too cold, or too hot (heat wave last year) the balance between female flowers and male flowers becomes unbalanced ... There is abortion. A point addressed in an excellent book whose author escapes me. Must say that he has a stupid name! How to remember? (This is mentioned in the heat wave version - but if I remember correctly, I also point out the possible imbalance when it is cold) ...
