Ocean warming accurately modeled

US oceanologists and climate experts are reassured: their models agree and it is human influence that is causing the current warming of the oceans.
The latest calculations at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in California were presented at the 2005 conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. They show that current models that use data collected in several oceans of the planet can predict at 95% the ocean temperatures on the first 700 meters.
"The fact that multiple models simulate a similar warming gives the results some solidity," says Thomas Delworth, a climate modeller at the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory in Princeton, New Jersey.
The scientists confirm that since 40 years the global warming also gains the most important environment on Earth under the human influence, as they announced it from 2001 in the magazine Science.
