Three Australian scientists said Monday they had been pressured by the government to keep their views on global warming silent.
"I was told that I could not say anything that would indicate that I disagreed with government policy" Australian, Graeme Pearman, former director of the climate department at the independent Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), told ABC television.
Australia refused to ratify the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, which imposes limits on greenhouse gas emissions.
