Cogeneration in Ile-de-France Document DRIRE IDF.

The Ile-de-France, 1ère electricity producing region cogeneration. More 22 860 GWh of electricity were produced in 2002 in France by cogeneration plants.

The Ile-de-France has produced alone 3 936 GWh, 17,2% of national output, ranking well 1ère electricity producing region by CHP before the Haute-Normandie region (10%), Rhône -alpes (9,8%), Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (9,6%) and Nord-Pas-de-Calais (9,6%).

Moreover, almost half of the electricity produced in the region comes from cogeneration, while the cogeneration sector represents, at national level, that 4% of the electricity production.

In this particular regional context, the DRIRE conducted a detailed study on the cogeneration park in Ile-de-France, whose main results are exposed here.
