From today, November 15, 2006, France has imposed the recycling of WEEE class waste and household appliances. A tax will be automatically levied on the sales of new products in order to finance their recycling.
This eco-tax, already in place in other European countries, in particular in Belgium (Recupel), will promote the development of recycling and help companies in the sector which survived (when they did…) too often thanks to subsidies ! Would recycling become profitable?
