Launch of the first French offshore wind farm

Following a call for tenders for the production of electricity from offshore wind turbines, France gave the green light to the construction of the first park, in the Channel, with a capacity of 105 megawatts (MW) d 'electricity.

It would represent 25% of the current wind farm and it would have started from a project to have 14 to 21% renewable electricity in 2010. The additional production cost will be passed on to electricity bills…
