The group is reorienting its development strategy for the Hybrid HDi

European leader in environmentally friendly vehicles, PSA Peugeot Citroën confirms the place of hybrid technologies within its technological device, while modifying the modalities of their application.

The group confirms the massive deployment of a micro-hybrid offer through its ranges. 1,1 million vehicles will be equipped with the Stop & Start system in 2011 and 1,6 million in 2012.

PSA Peugeot Citroën, on the other hand, will develop its diesel hybrid program, initially planned for Peugeot 308 and Citroën C4. As the examination of the AII file by the European Commission promises to be too long and its results uncertain, the Hybrid HDi project of PSA Peugeot Citroën is redirected. Hybrid HDi will be proposed, on the horizon 2011, on models "premium" of Peugeot or Citroën, only to be able to justify by their level of services the extra cost that this technology represents for the customer.
