last summer, we urinated in a blue plastic barrel containing sawdust (which absorbs a lot!)

It still lacked a sink to rinse your hands ... :frown:

Okay, so I would like to know how many pees a bale of straw can absorb ...

On the site we find this formula:

Image

Practical case of a medium festival for 10 visitors.

It is necessary to envisage: 10 000/60 = 167 hatcheries and 28 bales of straws.

Suppose a festival-goer pees 5 times a day so we have 50 pees to distribute over 000 boots.

1 good pee is 0.2L (beer !!!!) so we have 10L on 000 boots or 28L per boot .... while the volume of a large round boot is around 360 m2,4.

Is that consistent?

360L spread over a round surface of 1,8 m in diameter (= 2,54 m²) this still represents 140 mm in height over 24 hours ... in other words the equivalent of a big tropical storm !! (ahahah I copyright this wonderful wordplay lapsus grodoigt)

Same as the green cabaret ... one of the biggest festivals in the Grand Est!

By cons these beautiful letters planted did not last the first winter (it is synthetic on the photo) ... the system is not on pivot they remain all year vertical ... so with problem irrigation and evaporation that you can easily guess ...

Too bad the designers should have consulted me (but it's never too late to do well)

Just a remark! we talk about pee, popo, poo for small children. As adults, the word urinate should be used simply

You have to see the ecological cost, with the tons of air fresheners that will be necessary to mask the scent of maceration. : Lol: Public urinals are not an airy straw bale at the bottom of the garden that will be used once in a while.

Ah sure, you need a stewardship that follows !!! According to attendance and sociology (how many beer drinkers? Herbal tea drinkers? Etc ...)

If I understood correctly, it is a question of enriching the straw with nitrogen and phosphorus to make a ground cover "fattened" in market gardening.

It's a good idea, but is there a risk of transmitting potentially contagious human diseases?

Exact, hence my questions and the small verification calculations that I did above!

The video is 5 years old, I have never seen it in real life (yet I do a few festivals) ... we cannot say that the success is dazzling!
