Bonjour à tous

It also exists on a large scale.
In I no longer know which magazine, I read a story or a traveler (in a Nordic country) contemplates a lake which is not yet frozen when it is - 15 °.

Suddenly horses come to drink and soak their legs at the water's edge and the lake freezes in a block.
It must be damn spectacular ... 8)

A+

Extract from the article "supercooling" § Ladoga lake in Wikipedia:

horses and trees trapped in the ring of fire cried out in a terrible way.
