Performing a rainwater recovery

by alex81 » 10/09/07, 20:56

Hello
I started my installation I buried 3 concrete tanks of 7000 liters that I found at a winegrower
I was advised to put a prefilter before the tanks
I'm looking for some advice to make a prefilter myself

Hello

Little pierrot your systems are ok and superb.

in a cheap hack there is also a decanter of one m3 followed by a large swimming pool filter (recovered at the municipal swimming pool it changes them all the time and they are pretty good when they throw them away).

that ensures the quality AND the flow.

for the concrete settling tank or plastic recovery tank (both have their advantages and disadvantages)

As soon as I finish my installation at mada I post photos.

@+

PS: would anyone know of a supplier of a 12v submersible pump less than 40mm in diameter

Hello, notice to non-DIYers (like my brother-in-law;)), there are companies that sell rainwater recovery systems to power toilets, washing machines, watering ... from 2000 to 20.000 liters . In addition, there is a 25% tax credit (I'm not sure of the exact amount). I don't know if I can give the names on the forum but i can do it by mp.
My bof had it installed and he is very happy with it.

thank you ptit pierrot for these filters advice.
I'm still hesitating between a self-cleaning filter sold by my material supplier and your much cheaper system !!

My installation, I will do it in two stages for lack of means, first
-the installation of the 500l buried tank, connected to rainwater,
-a trench with sheath between the house and the tank (approx8-10m)
- plumbing in the house (wc washing machine tap ext)
all this will be carried out at the end of December 2007.
I intend during the 1st semester 2008 to do the rest
-the installation of the booster pump in the house
-the installation of the float strainer in the tank

Is there an important detail that I could have forgotten that must be taken into account when installing the tank? water level indicator in the tank can be low?

Thank you in advance for enlightening me on this subject.

Something very stupid to think of putting: a leaf filter. A pool skimmer basket does the trick.
