Random smells in the house

by Bengal77 » 26/01/22, 18:27

Hello everybody

Maybe someone has experienced this before or can help me out.

I bought a farmhouse 2 years ago in August, and we noticed that there was a sanitary type smell, as soon as we took our shower. From memory, it started in September and lasted 1 month....then nothing, without having carried out the slightest action.

This didn't worry me, since we had 2 septic tanks and I had thought that it was going to disappear by switching to a micro station since I had planned it.

Between September and the following summer, the smells came back maybe twice, for 2 to 1 weeks each time.

Last year (in July), I therefore changed the sanitation and switched to a micro station. No more smells until this month, or it's been 3 weeks that it smells as soon as we take our showers.

Regarding odors, for clarification, it smells neither in the sanitary facilities, nor in the S2Bains, nor in the evacuations. The smell arrives in the middle of the Salon...so I don't understand.

That's my concern, if you have ideas and solutions, I'm interested.

We look forward to seeing you!

Hello,
A siphon that dries up, a sink or a little used shower?

The fall ventilation too close to a window... Or a fall decompression valve stashed behind a malfunctioning placo partition

Yes, or a siphon is missing somewhere, it can happen in some old houses where the drain has little slope.

A missing siphon would smell strongly in the room concerned... And all the time... in short, like a triphon present : Cheesy:

It's no longer legal.

In his case, I think it's more a problem of an empty water trap.

Hair, algae or other mold in the pipes.
A little vacuum cleaner planned to suck up water (like Karcher or any other brand), that should solve the problem for a month.

Or a high-pressure ferret that we plug into the Kärsher. I have one, it works like hell.
