I had seen it, but the opinions of buyers are not very engaging ... I have the impression that recent models are less reliable than old models in cast iron.
In addition, a bottom of more than 1.5m of water is required.

Be careful for the 5 m: a well-made pumping installation has a valve strainer in the bottom of the well (most pump pipes sold in DIY stores are by default fitted with a valve strainer system).

Once the hose is loaded (= full of water) and if the valve is tight, then pumping to 5 m is no longer necessary.

You just need to be able to prime this pipe by filling it "from the top" ... on a centrifugal pump there is always a filler cap, on a hand pump I don't know?

On the other hand, do not forget to drain in winter if you are in a region at high risk of frost and the pump does not run in winter!

Christophe, you say:
... on an arm pump I don't know?

No need for a cap, since the filling is done from the top of the cylinder, after lifting the cover ...
Note that at the bottom of the cylinder there is a check valve (which does not dispense with a pipe end valve).
If our friend is not a handyman, it is better that he avoids this kind of pump and turns to electric: it's more it works or it breaks ... :D

Bonjour à tous

I finally managed to find a nice little pump in the spirit I wanted. But there's work ...
The brand "Belgium" does not offer any reference on the net. The logo may speak to someone ...

The whole, not surprisingly, is very rusty, I have already blown up two or three bolts while trying to unscrew.
The piston is cooked and will be replaced, I think all of the seals are 50/78.
The internal diameter is 65mm.

I have a few ideas to go take over there.

I'll keep you informed

I had looked badly, the mark is written on it, it is "Al Claeys Zedelgem"

It is the same as this model, we advance ...

Hello bigcheese, how did your project get? Did you get the hand pump to work?
I have the same project so I'm interested ☺️ I saw that point p sells nozzles to enhance the well, I think to put this with a cover and a pump

Hi matmat

Bin finally I let go of the renovation of the pump, the inside of the pump was damaged, the bottom connection was not adaptable ...
So I went on a new model from "Puteus" (too many bad feedback on "ribiland") not too expensive.

And I am very happy with it. You just need to provide the pipe / pump connection but otherwise nothing complicated.

Hello bigcheese,

Thank you very much for your testimony !

I am essentially in the same situation as you and being only a little handyman, I struggled to find information accessible to the handyman of Sunday who does not want to put 1000 € in his optional well either.

Mine looks like yours but with 3m of water at a depth of 4m and as an accessory a huge rusty pipe which plunges directly into the water and which no longer creates the vacuum necessary for the correct rise of the water in the column ...
So I'm going to do like you and try to pass a pipe directly through the concrete hatch.

What type of pipe did you use (diameter? Material?)
How did you get it through your concrete hatch and what device (fitting) did you use to stabilize the pump?

Thanks again,
Pol

Hello!

I think you will be able to remove your rusty pipe.
I have time tomorrow, I disassemble, take the measurements and take pictures for you.

Bravo.
And memories, memories ... there was one like that with my grandfather, which I sometimes activated, as a child, during the holidays. It took very little effort, it surprised me.
