This complex overlooked the plateau of St-Hilaire, place of the icare cut (where I go regularly), its destruction will therefore change the "landscape".
Demolition in progress:
Some pictures chosen:
All this gives me a good impression of waste both economic and ecological ... and introduces the debate of wastelands: we can understand the abandonment of brownfields but less that of administrative and public buildings like this one ...
It really reminds me of the sites of O abandoned ... that cost hundreds of millions of millions and released billions of g of CO2 ... In short, it gives me a strong impression of both economic and ecological (because of some "asshole decision makers" ???)
But we are not going to redo humanity ... or?

The pathetic end of the Hospitals of Saint-Hilaire-Du-Touvet
The sinking of a ship.
These few photographs, taken between April and October 2011, testify to the sinking of a vessel that was long the pride of the region. Composed of three institutions located in the town of Saint-Hilaire, to the top of the village, this vessel, at the mercy of vandalism since the spring 2010, has become the ideal ground for simulated wars, the giant web of taggers, the refuge of squatters and a story to tell ...
Sanatoriums originally, they knew how to be converted into medical centers treating the most diverse pathologies. All three, exposed on the south-eastern foothill of the Dent de Crolles, eastern balcony of the Chartreuse Massif, offer a magnificent view of the entire Belledonne Mountains and the Mont Blanc Massif.
The scuttling of the ship!
Natural hazards were the very controversial pretext given at the time to justify the closure of the institutions. Because in the red zone, as a good part of the village, in terms of risk prevention, the CMC and the WCEDD would have been threatened by avalanches and rock falls. Indeed, the site knew in 1968 and 1970 several avalanches raising a reflection on the protection of the buildings. Soon, the first works were decided.
Other avalanches in 1978 and 1981 will demonstrate the limit of these. Techniques to fight against the departure of the avalanche will be added techniques to retain the snowpack.
Unfortunately, the February 9 1999, an avalanche swept 20 cottages in Montroc in the Chamonix Valley, killing 12 people. Nothing like it to feed psychosis or, according to the rumor, a strategy already well advanced.
Given the prohibitive cost of their protection, about 20 million Euros, the State then decided the principle of demolition of the two centers. However, no deadline being fixed, the owners, pending the demolition phase, were asked to secure, clean up and have the buildings monitored.
Only the establishment of Rocheplane located in purple zone seemed to escape this decision. False hope because it will also be quickly abandoned!
After the scuttling, none of the owners will respect the given order and the three buildings will be delivered to the hazards. It will follow a hallali and a pitiless priest!
Today, every hospital is devoured, hollowed out of what is most lucrative: copper, cast iron ...; more appropriate: marble, stainless steel kitchens, double glazing, sanitary, tiles, sports equipment, computer ... Only books, magazines, administrative and sometimes medical files, visit, some radios, equipment, beds and various utensils, droppings, straitjackets, leg prostheses ..., souvenirs, postcards, photos, paintings, upright piano ..., safe, pottery oven and machines lift because too heavy or unnecessary!
Everything is smashed, ripped, broken, sometimes stained as if a cataclysm had fallen on these places. Since then, the wind, as a new absolute master, carries the complaints of patients and caregivers, rushes here and there, through a knocked out door, an exploded window, runs along the boneless corridors, climbs the stairwells, revisits perpetually prey, from the theater to the pool, kitchens to the library, the chapel to rehabilitation rooms, waiting rooms to treatment rooms, archives to workshops, boiler room to rooms. One by one, these are inspected, and its mad race continues charrying fibers of glass wool, asbestos particles, dust of hospitals ... The doors slam, the papers fly away ... Only the messages printed on the walls resist and communicate instructions that have become obsolete, thanks, proofs of love and nostalgia ... Many tags join them with respect, often with humor and, for many, with talent.
The wind continues its crazy hike to the ground flying over glass debris, puddles of oil, balls for simulated combat arms, papers, files, diskettes, photos, disemboweled parquet floors, abandoned hangers, plaster powder, rubbish of all kinds ... Ignoring these obstacles, he envelops them, bypasses them, jostles them, reverses them to resume his congested road leaving behind a feeling of anguish and oppression ...
In front, Belledonne, Lady of the Alps, immutable, observes the pathetic end of three old fellow travelers.
