Sciences and religions: incompatible!

This is the subject of the latest Vox-pop documentary.
Interesting the difficult dialogue between a professor of history and sociology and a Catholic theologian at 4:42
Since the 19th century, the power of religions has declined dramatically, but today some religions are trying to re-impose some power on people, especially in medicine.

There is no such thing as scientific power. There are theories which are consensus and which are applied. On the other hand, an Iman has a power by instituting a fatwa.

Christian medicine, what quackery at 14:06

It's not like there are any good believing scientists, no you think ... : roll:

It was necessary to put a question mark to this tempting title!

From Izentrop in all its splendor heaviness. The title of Arte shows it!

I do not know how many university chairs in theology there are in the world, but there are hundreds (even thousands):

In Strasbourg there are even two, a Catholic and a Protestant (and a state university, please ... I do not speak in secular universities of course, because I do not support those who do in religious places, but to each his choice)
https://www.persee.fr/doc/raipr_0033-90 ... 149_1_3854

Also in Geneva (Protestant Rome ...)
https://www.unige.ch/theologie/actualit ... theologie/

If it is not a cohabitation between science and religion, that!

A title like that is like claiming that all scientists are atheists.

This even goes as far as scientific names: the Higgs boson => god particle (anecdotal, whatever ...)

which proves that being a good scientist is not a universal quality which applies to everything one does, but simply that in some areas one can have had a correct reasoning, and in others completely delusional. The authority argument "you are not going to question what the professor thingy says, who has so many publications to his credit and such a prestigious post" is worthless.

You should remember this for the epidemiology, and Izzy should remember it for the climate. : Lol:

Understand who can : Wink:
in this image I'm using, science would be technology, would be the smartphone, would be the GPS
spirituality would be the reconnection to his body, to his senses, to his capacities.

I distinguish spirituality from religion because religion contains a little spirituality but spirituality contains nothing religious.
Personally I see religions as trailers, initiations, towards spirituality.

Spirituality is highly scientific: it is observation without judgment.

Can you specify what disinformation I would have relayed to myself, and in which post, to understand what you mean?

We have simply gone from theocracy to technocracy: the religious character has only shifted ... This is what makes it possible to understand indignant belching as much as devoid of meaning. Celineespectevenpassamer towards religion: mimetic rivalry.
